On the surface, many human services cases might appear to be direct. You might look at a case and quickly identify the problem as a lack of services, missing services, or insufficient resources. With complex cases, however, a deeper look is necessary. What may appear to be a basic problem with a simple solution might actually be much more for clients dealing with complex issues. For this Discussion, review the media program “The Situation: Chapter 1.” As you reflect on the problems that exist for the client, consider which ones you would prioritize as most critical.
